Nephrotic Syndrome |
Why does a person with NS develop hyperlipidemia?
As we all know, NS will cause a large Urine Protein of more than 3.5g of protein lost in the urine each day. This results in a low protein level in the blood, or hypoalbuminemia (serum albumin<3g/100ml).
Due to decreased effective plasma albumin circulation, there is increased hepatic lipoprotein synthesis to maintain plasma oncotic pressure. As a result, high cholesterol and triglycerides can be caused. This hyperlipidemia can manifest as lipids in the urine, seen as oval fat bodies on microscopic urinalysis.
The kidneys are two bean-shaped organs found in the lower back. They are like body's filters, which remove wastes from the blood and returned the cleaned blood back to the body. Each of the kidneys has millions of units to filter blood known as glomeruli, tiny blood vessels. NS occur when the tiny blood-filtering units (glomeruli) in the kidneys are damaged. This causes loss of proteins in the urine, fall in plasma protein levels, and fluid to move into body tissues, causing swelling and bloating of body (edema or oedema).
Is there any comprehensive solutions for NS?
Based on 26 years' experience and expertise in kidney disease treatment, Immunotherapy has been worked out for NS. It is a comprehensive treatment which can gives a good curative effect. Immunotherapy contains Micro-Chinese Medicine Osmotherapy, new immunosuppressants, blood fat purification, which are useful for NS.
Treatment option of hyperlipidemia in NS: blood lipid purification
Long-term high lipid levels can aggravate the kidney damage of NS, thus accelerating the progression to renal insufficiency and Uremia. Besides, patient's risk of heart disease and pancreatitis increase.
Therefore, if we want to treat hyperlipidemia of NS effectively, we must clear up the excess harmful substances in the blood so as to create a clean internal environment and ensure the best treatment effect.
Blood lipid purification is one item of our immune clearance treatment aimed at alleviating high blood lipid levels. With the application of advanced equipment and technology, patient's LDL will be eliminated out of the body.
There are also several things you can do to control your symptoms, such as switch to a low-fat diet, control your weight, do regular aerobic exercise, quit smoking, avoid or limit alcohol, etc.
With the combination of medical treatment and lifestyle modification, hyperlipidemia in NS can be well treated. You can send an email to sjzkidneyhospital@hotmail.com for more information.
