Some symptoms of chronic kidney disease |
When the kidney function is reduced, some symptoms will occur, such as:
1. Swelling
If your kidney is mildly damaged, you may experience swelling in the eyelid or face. When the kidney function is moderately or severely damaged, serious swelling in the legs, arms, ankles and feet will be seen. Sometimes, swelling is accompanied with pain.
2. Fatigue
The mainly cause is anemia. The kidney is also responsible for secreting erythropoietin that is important for generating red blood cells. Those cells transport oxygen for our body, so when the number of them declines, less oxygen is provided. Fatigue or dizziness appears.
3. Digestive problem
As damaged kidneys cannot discharge wastes and toxins adequately, a deposition of these harmful substances will attack your gastrointestinal tract, then you will have the feeling of poor appetite, nausea, vomiting or diarrhea.
4. Urinary changes
Frequent urination (especially at night), urgent urination, protein or blood in the urine, and urinary tract infection are the common symptoms.
5. High blood pressure
This this the most commonly seen complication. Water-sodium retention and proteinuria can worsen this condition. If you have a history of high blood pressure or diabetes, you should control your blood level and blood sugar level well, because they will damage your kidneys, resulting in further loss of renal function.
These above listed are just parts of symptoms of reduced kidney function. Cases will vary from individual to individual because of the severity. No matter what you are suffering from, taking methods to improve your kidney function is the most important thing.
Chronic renal failure is a term that is sometimes used but means much the same as CKD. CKD is a better term, as the word failure implies that the kidneys have totally stopped working. In most cases of CKD this is not so. In most people who have CKD there is only a mild or moderate reduction in kidney function, which usually does not cause symptoms, and the kidneys have not failed.
Treatment to improve kidney function
Traditionally, the doctor will prescribe you some medicines which can simply help you relieve your symptoms. To improve the kidney function, the goal of the treatment should be repairing the renal intrinsic cells. For that purpose, I recommend you take Chinese herbs. Unlike traditional way of taking Chinese herbs orally, we create therapies that are performed externally. This way is more natural and effective.
